Data Science Education – A Scoping Review

Aim/Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the extant research on data science education (DSE) identify existing gaps, opportunities, and challenges, make recommendations for current future DSE. Background: There has been an increase in number of programs especially because increased appreciation as a multidisciplinary strategic resource. resulted greater need skills extract meaningful insights from data. However, are not enough meet demand skills. While there is growth programs, they appear more rebranding engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics programs. Methodology: A scoping review was adopted period 2010–2021 using six scholarly databases: Google Scholar, IEEE Xplore, ACM Digital Library, ScienceDirect, Scopus, AIS Basket eight journals. The narrowed down 91 articles classification coding framework correlation analysis analysis.
